These project-appropriate terms describe the simple agreement behind SkillSwap: a community exchange of time, not money.

Credits are time, not currency

A SkillSwap credit represents one hour of learning within the platform. It has no cash value, cannot be bought or sold, and may not be transferred outside a completed SkillSwap session.

Confirm only what happened

Credits move after both teacher and learner confirm the session was completed. Confirming a session that did not happen undermines the community and may lead to account restrictions.

Be clear, safe, and respectful

Listings must describe skills members genuinely intend to teach. Members are responsible for agreeing on a suitable time, format, and location, and should use good judgment when meeting someone new.

Reviews should be honest

Reviews are for completed sessions only. Keep feedback specific, fair, and relevant to the learning experience so it remains useful to the next member.
